Bali Hai designs have been featured in numerous fashion magazines and publications and they have a collection of jewelry in their stores. But the company has a reputation for being quite a bit less than the sum of its parts.
Bali Hai design is based on the works of the Japanese artist Kiyoshi Sugawara. Sugawara is famous for his designs that feature a very intricate and detailed mesh of geometric shapes. The Bali Hai earrings are an homage of the mesh to a Bali Hai earring. They’re a simple design, but very pretty. My favorites are the eye-catching crystals and the round and blue gemstones.
Bali Hai is a company with a reputation for being a little bit… less than its parts. On a scale of one to ten, with ten being the highest, it’s a pretty low score. But with a reputation as a company that’s based on a design by a well-known Japanese artist, it’s not hard to see why Bali Hai has that reputation.
