This is a very common question I get asked. I am not the biggest fan of any store that sells jewelry, but they are definitely a common one for me. I don’t like how many stores have become this “thing” where the majority of the people I see are tourists. I feel like I’m being used as a sales agent which I hate. This is because I don’t want to be treated like a tourist.
I could care less what they sell. I just want to know what they are and what they have. You may have heard of a boutique that has a huge variety of jewelry, but what I really like about these stores is they are not just an outlet for a company that has dozens of employees doing thousands of different things. You can actually go into these stores and have a conversation with the owners and they will be able to tell you what kind of jewelry they carry.
Visalia, California is the most famous jewelry town in the world. And I mean the classic kind, not the really large stores that sell a few hundred different kinds of things. Visalia is a big city with a lot of shops. There are more than a dozen different jewelry stores there. And many of them are actually owned by women.
In Visalia there are jewelry stores that are run by women. These women are not selling the traditional, all-white look of the store, but they do specialize in jewelry that has a lot of color (think sequins, crystals, beads, and other such things). And they do not sell black or beaded jewelry, because they are all black, and beaded jewelry is too messy to show off.
Many of these shops are also owned by men, and they are generally more conservative in their jewelry choices, which is why they are less known and less popular than other jewelry options. At the same time… these women are also making their mark on Visalia, because they are the only jewelry stores that actually have the word “visalia” on the store sign.
The jewelry stores are a pretty cool place to shop, but you have to be careful because of the language. If you see a store with a big sign with the word “visalia” on it, and there are women wearing a visalia necklace, you might be a little bit hard-pressed to be able to tell them apart. But if you see a store with a big sign with “visalia” and “women” on it, then we are in luck.
Visalia is a small town, and their town board is going to be a little more strict than average. They will be issuing a letter to all visalia residents to explain what they are going to be doing, but you have to be there next week at the most to buy your bracelets.
Visalia is also home to the Visalia Museum, which is one of the oldest in the country. The museum has a nice, modern art gallery in it, with a huge amount of old, beautiful pieces. The best part of the museum is their gift shop, which has wonderful jewelry, and a lovely shop for kids of all ages.
And the best part of this shopping experience is that all of these pieces are available for purchase on the website of this museum. You can even get a bracelet for $10 or a necklace for $20.
The Visalia Museum is a great museum for the price, in my opinion. I went with a bracelet, but there are so many other things for sale, I could have spent more time in the gift shop.
